AROUND THE OFFICE

That previous weather report was false, blog,

It was sunny and humid today, would have been a beautiful day to be out and about but I was doing the ol' 9-5, u know how it goes. Anyway this a sort of bummer week because one co-teacher is going back to the states for the next month this weekend, but on the other hand next week we are also getting a new co-teacher! I haven't met them yet, but I am wondering if they'll notice some of the stuff we have stashed around the workplace. Most of/all of it is American culture stuff so the Korean teachers must think we are real strange but so it goes. Here are some fun we've had around the office to spice up the daily grind:

Here's Bobby DeNiro reminding people to clean up after themselves.

Here's THE MAN from our youth (as far as science was concerned) Bill Nye 'The Science Guy' reminding people that when the AC is cranking, don't crack the window.

Below is recently deceased former WWE superstar Randy 'Macho Man' Savage telling people that if you finish off the stack, refill the paper!  We put this up before his passing, but his 'oh yeah' catchphrase lives on in Hwajeong.

This is prob the most elaborate. That's one of the students who frequently comes into the teacher's room and disrupts the peace. One Korean teacher got a shipment of cosmetics (a 20 pack of face masks I think) sent to school and we made this and slipped it into one of the boxes. Who know's how long until she finds it.

Also we stash stuff around the desks, you can usually count on someone opening their desk to a surprise, or finding one tucked away in a book. Back in February I came back to my desk to find this on my planner for some reason hahah (oh this was before 'that whole thing' a few months ago with Arnie.

One night we were working late and got lil bored so we decided to emulate a prank from The Office, by moving our co-worker's desk. In the show they moved it to the bathroom but we wouldn't be there in the morning to help move it back so we felt bad and just moved it to one of the classrooms.

In addition to this stuff we also started Terrible Tie Tuesdays, where we sport the latest in $10 awful ties that Korea has a in abundance. Having little jewels in patterns on your tie is really popular, as are stripes in all colors. I thnk I snagged the only two or three solid color ties in town. What's also strange is that the more expensive the tie, the uglier, more jeweled and mis-matched colorss, the tie gets. At least to my Western sensibilities.
